Awarenessinfohub has gathered that Nigeria claim a tenth title as they beat host-nation Morocco 3-2 in the final of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The match was played at Olympic Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, where the home side had claimed a two-goal lead at half time.
Nigeria has lifted the WAFCON trophy for a record-extending 10th time.
Rabat, meanwhile, is left in shock as the host nation let their two-goal lead slip.
Having lost to South Africa in the last final, also on home soil, it’s heartbreak for Morocco once again.
Nigeria beat defending champions South Africa 2-1 in the semifinals.
Morocco overcame Ghana in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after extra time in their last-four clash.
Ghana beat South Africa on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the bronze-medal match on Friday.
Apart from being the winner of this year WAFCON trophy. The Super Falcons of Nigeria will also be going home with a one million dollars money prize.
